Course Objectives

Participants will be able to:

    • Define the key components of MTSS-B and describe its overall framework including the difference between Tier 1, Tier 2, and Tier 3 supports.
    • Explain why a strong Tier 1 foundation is essential for effective implementation of Tier 2 and Tier 3 supports.
    • Describe the key factors that influence student behavior, including context and function.
    • Explain the ABCs of behavior (Antecedent, Behavior, Consequence).
    • Discuss how the ABCs of behavior relate to determining behavioral function.
    • Identify the function of common behaviors in scenarios.
    • Recognize discipline as instruction that corrects, molds character, and develops self-control.
